Obituary of Francis H. Holloway
Francis H. Holloway, 84, of Freehold Township, passed away surrounded by his family on Tuesday, July 12, 2022. He was born in New York City, was raised in Valley Stream, NY, and settled in Freehold Township to raise his family. Frank attended Brooklyn Polytechnic, a school known for training in engineering and sciences, where he earned his Chemical Engineering degree. He was a hard worker and put in 30 years of dedicated service at Old Bridge Chemicals where he retired as Vice President of Manufacturing.
Frank loved and adored his two daughters with his late wife, Maureen. When Frank married his wife Gail, he welcomed his three stepdaughters with open arms and so much love. His thirteen grandchildren were his pride and joy, and they all lined up in a row to take turns hugging him. From the age of 15, he enjoyed repairing cars and loved going to classic car shows later in life. He was an avid baseball player and fan. His team was and always will be the Yankees. Though Frank did not have boys of his own, he coached a Little League team for years.
Thursday nights were his bowling league nights, while many Friday nights were spent with his late wife playing in the Stonehurst Bridge League. He was the go-to man for everything, whether to fix a furnace, get help with writing, math or science homework, ask advice, or share a laugh. He always loved helping his family and friends and kept his toolbelt in the trunk of his car, just in case. Frank enjoyed solving sudoku puzzles and word jumbles, was a coupon shopper, and relished in sharing his boyhood tales.
When Frank retired, he and his wife, Gail, found their winter home on a lake in Florida, a lifetime dream of his. One of his greatest memories was when he and Gail and their best friends, Nick and Angie, spent eight weeks traveling around the Unites States, a trip he would never forget. Of all of Frank’s successes, his family was his greatest treasure and he in turn provided them with beautiful memories.
Frank was predeceased by his first wife, Maureen A. Holloway; parents, Francis and Helen Holloway; sisters, Maureen Holloway and Carole Miller; and brothers-in-law, Murt Miller and Ron Blachut. He is survived by his wife, Gail Holloway; children, Suzanne Brennan and her husband, Tom of Howell, Sandra Brodsky and her husband, Russell of Hatfield, PA, Yvette DeFabritus and her husband, Rich of Freehold, Shannon White and her husband Chris of Monroe, and Kristin McCabe and her husband, Jason of Brick; grandchildren, Melyssa Brennan, Thomas Francis Brennan, Andrew Brennan, Max Brodsky, Paige Weintraub and her husband, Yosef, Ben Brodsky, Isabella DeFabritus, Giulia DeFabritus, Abigail White, Lucas White, Corpsman HM3 Tyler McCabe, United States Navy, Corporal Lindsay McCabe, United States Marine Corps, and Eric McCabe; great grandson, Eliezer Weintraub; sister, Doris Blachut; niece, Kimberly Blachut; and nephew, Brian Blachut.
