Obituary of Barbara S. DePalma

Barbara S. DePalma, 87, of Jackson passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 surrounded by her loved ones.  Born in Springfield, MA, she spent most of her life in Glen Rock and Avon-By-the-Sea, NJ.  Barbara was an elementary school teacher for 35 years in the Glen Rock school system before retiring to travel.  Her favorite pastimes included figure skating, gardening and watching tennis and the Yankees as well as spending time with her family.

Barbara was predeceased by her husband, Thomas DePalma in 2004; and her companion, Frank Carillo in 2019.  She is survived by her three sons, Scott Nelson and his wife, Colleen of Howell, David Nelson and his wife, Lynda of Riverside, RI, and Mark Nelson and his wife, Debra of San Diego, CA; five grandchildren, Michael Nelson and his wife, Meghan, Sean Nelson and his wife, Jaclyn, Sarah Patterson and her husband, Daniel, Kathryn Nelson, and Veronica Nelson; and five cherished great grandchildren, James, Wesley, Cali, Maggie and Kennedy. 

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Sunrise of Jackson and the VNA Health Group Hospice team.
