S. Joyce Strickland, 85, of Jackson passed away on Monday, July 18, 2022 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. She was born in Brooklyn and had traveled with her husband who was in the Air Force until he retired in 1972 when they settled in New Jersey. A graduate of Thomas Edison State University, Joyce worked as an accountant for the United States Army at Fort Monmouth for 29 years retiring in 1998.

She was predeceased by her loving husband of 54 years, George Strickland in 2012. Joyce is survived by two daughters, Karen Tracy and her husband, Robert of Eastampton, and Nancy Lynn Strickland of Charleston, SC; son, Joseph W. Strickland of Metuchen; three grandchildren, Robert Tracy, Jr., Craig Tracy and Matthew Strickland; two sisters, Kathryn Carol Davie of Howell, and Ellyn McHugh of Grand Blanc, MI.

Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Route (Route 524), Freehold Township on Thursday, July 21, 2022, from 3:00 to 6:30 PM with her funeral service to follow. Interment will be on Friday, July 22, 2022, at 10:30 AM in Brigadier General William C. Doyle NJ Veterans Cemetery, 350 Province Line Road, Arneytown.
