Obituary of William R.C. Wagner

William R.C. Wagner, 79, of Freehold Township passed away on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune.  A lifelong resident of Monmouth County, Bill was born in Neptune and raised in Adelphia.  He was a former member of the Adelphia Fire Department and a life member of the Turkey Swamp Rod & Gun Club.  Bill loved the thrill and excitement of Nascar and he was a devoted fan of Hendrick Motorsports 24 car driver Jeff Gordon.  He worked as a union carpenter and had also worked for Ira Matthews and Ben Harvey. 

Bill was predeceased by his parents, Raymond and Ida Wagner; brothers, Joseph Wagner, James Wagner and Arthur Wagner; and sisters, Carolyn Wilkins, Iris Eldridge, Dorothy Blatchley, Ruth Schreiber, Adrienne Aumock and Baby Mary Emma.  Bill is survived by numerous nieces and nephews and their families, as well as his cousins. 

Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Monday, August 22, 2022 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 11:00 AM funeral service at the funeral home on Tuesday, August 23, 2022.  For those that cannot attend, the family invites you to participate via Webcast through the Funeral Home website, HERE.
