Obituary of Jose Hector Machado

Jose Machado, 77, of Lakewood passed away on Friday, August 19, 2022 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. He was born in Argentina and was raised in Buenos Aires. Jose moved to Brooklyn before settling here ten years ago. In his youth, he participated in Boy Scouts and played on Gimnasia in Buenos Aires, the major soccer league of his time. As a young man, Jose was a member of El Club de los Dieciocho—the Club of 18—which was co-founded by his father. He married the love of his life in 1967 and prioritized family above all else; he greatly enjoyed spending Sundays in the company of his family and friends. A nature enthusiast, Jose enjoyed fishing and relaxing in the great outdoors. A phenomenal chef, he was known for his penchant for cooking and barbecue; he made excellent homemade sausages and cappicolo. To know Jose was to love him, and he will be deeply missed. Jose was predeceased by his daughter, Laura Machado. He is survived by his beloved wife, Norma of Lakewood; his children, Mariela Machado of Buenos Aires, Argentina, Fernando Machado and his wife, Paula of Howell, and Romina Candela and her husband, Pablo of Howell; and his eight grandchildren, Camila, Agustin, Juan Ignacio, Sofia, Trinidad, Juan Pablo, Lorenzo, and Clara. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 10:30 AM Funeral Mass on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township.
