Obituary of Giuseppe Manobianco

Giuseppe Manobianco, 85, of Manalapan passed away on Saturday, August 20, 2022. He was born and raised in Bitetto, Bari Italy and came to the United States at the age of 30 eventually settling in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn with his wife, Agnese together they raised their family for 54 years before moving to Manalapan in 2022. While living in Italy, he worked for his family business at Manobianco Calicara. Once in the states Giuseppe was a Splicer at Con Edison for 32 years retiring in 1999.

He was proud to be an American and one of his proudest days was the day he became a citizen in 1970.  

Giuseppe was truly passionate and devoted to Beato Giacomo, where he served on the member council of the Beato Giacomo Society. He took solace in caring for his fig tree, making wine and sauce.  Giuseppe loved a good game of scopa and briscola. He was a loving, selfless, Husband and Father and Nonno. Nothing brought him more pleasure than being around his family and paesani.

He was predeceased by his parents, Giovanni and Giovanna Manobianco; siblings, Vincenzo Manobianco, Dr. Michele Manobianco, Andrea Manobianco, Laura Maggi, Maria Silecchia and Anna Curreri. Giuseppe is survived by his wife of 54 years, Agnese Manobianco of Manalapan, two daughters, Giovanna Cardinale and her husband, Giuseppe of Staten Island and Antonietta Simunek and her husband, Ronald of Piscataway; four grandchildren, Angelo Cardinale and his wife, Gabrielle, Mariarosa Cardinale, Joseph Simunek and Antonia Simunek; great granddaughter, Giulietta Cardinale; sister-in-law, Eleanora Goffredo; many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Tuesday, August 23, 2022, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 11:00 AM Funeral Mass on Wednesday, August 24, 2022, at St. Gabriel Roman Catholic Church, 100 North Main Street, Marlboro, NJ 07746.
