Obituary of Thomas Quattrochi
It is with deep sadness that the family of Thomas Quattrochi announces his passing on September 10, 2022, at the age of 86, following a 2 year illness. Tom, born on December 10, 1935, was raised in Brooklyn, NY, and was the oldest of three children born to Josephine and Stephen Quattrochi. He served in the Air National Guard, and was a contractor and builder of many things, including homes, delicious sub sandwiches and beautiful hand carved birds. He was the best fixit and handyman around. He was a Tom of all trades!
At the age of 14, Tom met Marie Masiello Quattrochi when she moved in across the street from him. Little did he know at the time that he had met the love of his life. Married on September 22, 1956, they shared a beautiful love and life together for 66 years.
Tom and Marie started their beautiful family in Brooklyn, NY. They later moved to Staten Island and then Colts Neck, NJ. They spent their retirement years in Melfa, VA where Tom built their home. He enjoyed fishing and entertaining family and friends on the Eastern Shore of the Chesapeake Bay. After many years they moved to Monroe, NJ to be closer to their children and grandchildren.
Tom was a nurturing and passionate man. He loved his pets, nature, and his country. More than anything, Tom loved the family he helped build. He will always be loved and missed by his wife, Marie; daughters, JoAnn Komack and her husband, Dave of Freehold, NJ, Maria Cousins and her husband, Dean of Stratham, NH, and Denise Quattrochi of Wall, NJ; and son, Stephen Quattrochi and his wife, Caroline of Monmouth Beach, NJ. Tom’s legacy continues in his nine beautiful grandchildren who called him Poppa - Alex and husband Ross, Sam, TJ, Danny, Julia, Stephen, Philip, Joey and CJ; as well as his precious great grandchildren - Adam and Anna. He will be missed by his sisters, Marion Spano and Linda Jones and her husband, Tom, his nieces and nephews; and his many lifelong friends. Tom was a great role model and inspiration for so many.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Saturday, September 17, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 2:30 PM with his funeral service to follow.
