Obituary of Anthony Joseph Perrelli

Anthony Joseph Perrelli, 87, of Jackson, NJ passed away on Sunday, September 18, 2022, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold, NJ.  Tony was born in Manhattan to Anthony and Vincenza on December 25, 1934 and was raised in the Bronx and Manhattan.  He graduated from Manhattan College with a Bachelor’s Degree. A proud American, he served his country in the United States Army.  Upon marrying his wife Rose Perrelli (nee Liosi), Tony moved to Brooklyn and then settled in the Annadale section of Staten Island. He retired as an insurance broker from Marsh & McLennan, NYC after 26 years and had worked at the Home Insurance Company, NYC prior to that.  In retirement, Tony moved to Jackson, NJ in 2001.  A man of faith, he was a parishioner of the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine in Freehold and a former parishioner of Our Lady Star of the Sea in Staten Island.  Tony was active in the Westlake Golf & Country Club community and was a member of the Italian American Club and the Duffers Golf League.  He was a fan of the NY Yankees and the Pittsburgh Steelers yet cheering for his kids’ and grandchildren’s teams was more important.  He was a role model as a husband, father, and grandfather. Tony always put his family first before himself. He was devoted to his family, but most of all his wife was everything to him.

Tony is survived by his wife of 60 years, Rose; daughter, Vivian Perrelli and her life partner, Nicolas, of Manhattan; sons, Anthony Perrelli and his wife, Denise of Toms River and Stephen Perrelli and his wife, Lisa of Freehold; and five grandchildren, Anthony, Ava, Nicholas, Anthony and Sophia.

A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM.  Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Thursday, September 22, 2022 at 11:00 AM for the procession to his 12:00 Noon Funeral Mass at the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township.  Entombment will follow in St. Mary of the Lake Cemetery, 1 Honey Locust Drive, Lakewood.  For information, directions or condolence messages to the family, visit www.claytonfuneralhome.com.
