Obituary of Pasquale Patti
Pasquale Patti, 91, of Toms River passed away on Sunday, September 18th at Ocean Medical Center in Brick. He was born in Porto Empedocle, Sicily, Italy and immigrated to the United States in 1960 after living in both Venezuela and Canada. Pasquale lived in Brooklyn, Queens, and the Huguenot section of Staten Island before settling in Toms River in the late 1990’s. He was a Longshoreman stationed in Brooklyn for over 25 years, retiring in 1991. Along with his brothers, Pasquale was also an entrepreneur and owned several restaurants and pizzerias across New Jersey and New York. He was a celebrated shuffleboard player and a member of the Traveling Bocci Team at Lake Ridge. As a fan of Milan Football Club, he enjoyed watching games and cheering on his team. Pasquale was a sharp card player and a former member of the Porto Empedocle Club in Brooklyn.
Pasquale was always grateful for his beautiful life and loved his wife and his family more than anything. He loved to travel and always looked forward to going on family vacations. His children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were his pride and joy. Whether it was singing Christmas songs with the kids, or swimming in the ocean on vacation, or just simply sharing stories at the dinner table, Pasquale cherished every second of quality time with his family. He could make anyone laugh and no matter what was going on he always had a positive attitude towards life. We will always be inspired by his strength, wisdom, and love.
He was predeceased by his two brothers, Cologero and Paulo Patti. Pasquale is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Frances Patti; his two children, Catherine Dazio and her husband, Al and Tony Patti and his wife, Lorena; four grandchildren, Francesca Cambria and her husband Bart, Joseph Dazio and his wife, Darcey, Lauren Matteo and her husband, Christopher, and Danielle Patti; seven great grandchildren, Julianne, Emma, Amanda, Andrea, Cassandra, Ava, and Dylan; a brother, Giuseppe Patti, two sisters, Maria Ficarra and Carmelina Castelli; and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.
