Obituary of Helen Patricia Cecere

Helen Patricia (Hunt) Cecere, 85, formerly of Glen Ridge, Bloomfield, Colts Neck, Jackson, and Seabrook Village in Tinton Falls, passed away peacefully in West Belmar on September 16, 2022.  

 

She was predeceased by her husband, Robert “Bob” Cecere Sr.; her daughter, Helen Elizabeth “Beth”, and her sister Margot Priest.  She leaves her three sons, Robert Cecere, Jr, and his wife, Denise (Wagner), John Cecere, and Craig Cecere and his wife, Vicki (Cope); and five grandchildren, Hillary, Desiree Michalski and her husband, Jordan, Michael, Lily, and Ryan.

 

Born in 1936 to parents Oren G. and Helen (Lybarger) Hunt, she also leaves behind her brother, Oren “Tim” Hunt. 

 

Pat Cecere was a graduate of Glen Ridge High School, a cheerleader and a State Champion in the hop, skip and jump.  Her mother Helen passed away in 1948 when Pat was 12 years old.  Her marriage to Bob lasted 53 years until his passing in 2010.  Her daughter Beth was born with a developmental disability and resided at the Hunterdon Developmental Center until her passing earlier this year at the age of 61.  Pat had several ancestors that were prominent Patriots in the American Revolution.

 

Pat was known for her wonderful cooking, entertaining, and beautiful flower gardens.

She will be remembered for her pleasantness, resoluteness in facing life’s challenges including losing her sight in her final months, and deep appreciation for her care.

She enjoyed Cupcake Chardonnay in her final years.
