Obituary of Pamela Struneski
Pamela Beryl Struneski, 85, of Colts Neck passed away peacefully on Friday, January 18, 2013 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. She was born in England. Pam survived the Battle of Britain and became a war bride in 1945 when she married Joseph F. Struneski. An Army wife, she lived all over the world including the Presidio (San Francisco), Japan, Turkey and lastly at Fort Monmouth, until the retirement of her husband. Pam then lived in Tinton Falls, moving to Colts Neck in 1997. She was an active member of the Officer's Wives Club, a volunteer at many Fort Monmouth functions and attended Protestant services at the Fort Monmouth Chapel.
Pam was predeceased by her husband of 45 years, Major Joseph F. Struneski in 1990; two older sisters, Violet and Molly; and her older brother, Ronald. She is survived by three daughters, Frances Purdey of Colts Neck, Linda Swenarton and her husband, Chris of Freehold Township and Lisa Struneski of Auckland, New Zealand; and five grandchildren, Mary Purdey, Bill Purdey, Sarah Swenarton, Rachel Swenarton and Alina Struneski. Pam was a wonderful and warm-hearted mother, grandmother, mother-in-law and friend.
Visiting at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Saturday, January 26, 2013 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon with her funeral service to follow at 12:00 Noon at the funeral home with Rev. William Frederickson officiating. Interment to follow in Fair View Cemetery, Middletown.
