Obituary of Hedviges Roth

Hedviges Roth, 88, of Freehold passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, October 23, 2022 at home.  Hedviges was born, raised, and had lived in Prudentopolis, Brazil.  She came to the United States in 1981 settling in Freehold.  A woman of faith, Hedviges attended church at Corpus Christie R.C. Church in South River, the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine in Freehold Township, and St. Rose of Lima in Freehold.  She was a skilled knitter, making everything from hats to sweaters and relished in her trips to Atlantic City.  An amazing cook, she was an old fashioned “Mom”.

Hedviges was predeceased by her husband, Francisco; a son-in-law, Wilson; a brother, Joao; and four sisters, Joana, Maria, Estanislava and Helena.  She is survived by four children, Mouriza Screpka and her husband, Teo of Freehold, Marlene Boruch and her husband Jair Belatoof South River, Milton Roth and his wife, Sonia of Freehold, and Marcello Roth and his wife, Jacqueline of Jacksonville, FL; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren; three sisters, Julia, Rosa, and Teresa; and numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

A Memorial Mass will be held at Corpus Christie R.C.
