Obituary of Giuseppe Illiano

Giuseppe Illiano, 70, of Lakewood passed away unexpectedly at home on Monday, November 1, 2022.  Joe was born and raised in Monte di Procida within the city of Naples, Italy and came to the United States in 1976. While in Italy, he served in the Italian Navy.  He settled in Lakewood and raised his family, before moving to Howell where he retired to Lakewood in 2000.  Channeling his Italian heritage, Joe was devoted to the restaurant industry and could be found working in many of a family and friends’ restaurants making pizza.  He enjoyed tending to his garden and watching soccer.  Joe was a loving father, grandfather, brother, cousin, uncle, and friend.

Joe was predeceased by a brother, Pasquale and two sisters, Maria, and Assunta. He is survived by his three daughters; Gina Illiano and her husband Emmanuel of Freehold Township, Lisa Illiano-Armstrong and her husband Richard Armstrong II of Howell, and Julia Illiano of Jackson; three grandchildren, Madison, Caden, and Emmitt; his former wife, Coreen Illiano of Howell; four siblings, Mario, Vincenzo, Tonino, and Concetta; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 10:30 AM memorial mass on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township.
