Obituary of Paz DiAntonio

Paz DiAntonio, 77, a longtime resident of Freehold Township, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at her daughter’s home on Sunday, November 6, 2022 after a courageous battle with Lymphoma.  She was born in Leyte, Philippines and came to the United States in 1971.  Paz worked at Westward Pharmaceuticals for many years retiring in 2007.  Prior to that, she worked at CentraState Medical Center.  Paz was a devout Catholic and a parishioner at the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine.  She had a green thumb and relished in her time tending to her flowers, plants, and vegetable gardens.  A wonderful wife and mother, Paz was affectionately known as “Ma Ma” to her grandchildren.  Paz loved laughing and talking with her friends, watching K-POP movies, and traveling back home to the Philippines.

She was predeceased by her husband, James DiAntonio in 2005; son-in-law, Steven Soto in 2021; and her brother, Bregido Recto.  Paz is survived by daughters, Jessica Soto of Freehold Township, Jocelyn DeMoura and her husband, Renualdo of Freehold Township, and Bonnie Wright of Jackson; stepdaughters, Cynthia Britt and her husband, Larry, and Nancy Keller, both of Johnson City, TN; seven grandchildren, Kendall and Lauren Soto, Mariano, Olivia, and Giovanni DeMoura, Presley and Emerson Machado; four step grandchildren, Jennifer Pittman, Arlin Hourihan, Brooke Matthews and Jarrod Keller; eight siblings, Lucena Macuto, Rosa Lawis, Elicerio Recto, Magdalena Abrantes, Marcelina Gases, Viterbo Recto, Clarito Recto, and Charito Alcuino; and a host of nieces and nephews. 

Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Friday, November 11, 2022 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 10:00 AM Funeral Mass on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township.
