Obituary of Andrew J. Kornas

Andrew J. Kornas, 27, a lifelong resident of Freehold Township, passed away suddenly on Friday, November 4, 2022. Andrew was a graduate of the Freehold Borough Class of 2013 where he was on the soccer team.  In 2017, he graduated Cum Laude from The College of New Jersey Honors College, where he majored in Accounting and minored in Psychology, and made the Dean’s List every semester.  He was a member and Vice President of Professional Activities of Delta Sigma Pi and a member of Beta Gamma Sigma and Beta Alpha Psi.  Andrew started his professional career as an Accounts Payable intern at L’Oreal in 2015.  Upon graduation from TCNJ in 2017, Andrew passed the Certified Public Accounting exam and worked for 2 years as an audit associate at KPMG, after interning there in 2016.  Andrew continued his audit career at Johnson & Johnson in New Brunswick in 2019, followed by Finance and Accounting roles over the past 2 years.

Andrew loved to be active, always ready to go play another round of golf.  He also enjoyed swimming, bodysurfing and boogie boarding in Wildwood Crest with his brother, plus jogging, hiking, biking and working out.  He also enjoyed traveling in the United States and overseas to Iceland, South America, and Europe with his family, friends, and for business. 

Andrew leaves behind many to mourn his loss, namely his parents, Patricia D. (Troisi) Kornas and Stephen J. Kornas of Freehold Township; his brother, Stephen W. Kornas of Brick; the love of his life, Natalie A. Chwalk of Freehold Township; aunts and uncles, William P. Troisi of Elmwood Park, Regina M. Troisi of Mahwah, Michael R. Kornas and his wife, Alexandria of St. Mary’s, Georgia, and Maryann J. Dustal and her husband, Alan of Monroe; cousins, Jennifer Crawford and her husband, Billy, Nicholas Kornas and his wife, Marie, Briana Troisi, Perry Troisi, Victoria Kornas, Julia Troisi, Michael Dustal, & Brianna Dustal; young cousins Scarlett Crawford, Juliette Crawford, & Blaire Kornas; Natalie’s parents, Julie and Bobby Chwalk and her sisters, Hannah and Lily; and way too many other relatives and friends to name.

A Memorial Gathering for all to join in a celebration of Andrew’s life will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Sunday, November 13, 2022 from 1:00 to 5:00 PM.  Starting at 5:00 PM a Memorial Service for Andrew will be held.  We welcome everyone to join us.  For those who cannot attend, the family invites you to participate via the funeral home webcast HERE.  There will be no Interment.
