Obituary of William Thomas Donovan

William Donovan, 93, of Freehold passed away on Monday, November 21, 2022, Hackensack Meridian Health Nursing & Rehabilitation, Ocean Grove.  He was born, raised, and lived in Brooklyn before settling to Freehold 29 years ago. William was born into a large Irish family and was the youngest of 11. He worked in the pharmaceutical industry up until his retirement at the age of 62. William was a fantastic golfer who had great success in the game. He was an avid bowler and enjoyed playing cards. Every night at 6:00 PM, William could be found watching The Virginian.

He is predeceased by his wife, Isabel Donovan. William is survived by his two daughters, Doreen Femia and her husband, Gerard of Staten Island and Eileen Keenan of Little Silver. Six grandchildren, Louis Femia of Staten Island, Michael Femia and his wife, JoyceAnn of Staten Island, Erin Heaslip and her husband, Adam of Weehawken, Catherine Albert and her husband, Chris of Fair Haven, Brian Keenan and his wife, Danielle of Middletown, and Elizabeth Keenan of Williamsburg; 8 great grandchildren, Brielle, Audrielle, Michael, Christopher, William, Emma, Cooper and Emilia; many nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Friday, November 25, 2022 from 9:00 to 10:30 AM.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 11:00 AM Funeral Mass at the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township. Interment follow in St. Rose of Lima Catholic Cemetery, 299 Freehold-Englishtown Road, Freehold Township.
