Obituary of Lydia S. Eckman

Lydia S. Eckman, 92, of Flemington passed away on Monday, November 21, 2022, at New Jersey Eastern Star Home, Bridgewater. She was born in Jamesburg and had lived in Howell and Whiting before settling in Flemington 9 years ago. Lydia was the proud owner of Lydia's Beauty Shop in Howell for 45 years. She was devoted to her community and took great pride in giving back, a great quality she passed down to her children and grandchildren. Lydia was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for the past 70 years, past Matron of the Molly Pitcher Chapter #198 O.E.S. Freehold, Past President of Life Member Ladies Auxiliary Adelphia Fire Company for over 50 years, Past Grand Officer of the Grand Chapter O.E.S of New Jersey, past Matron Ruth Chapter #12 Milltown, member of the Monmouth County Daughters of the America Revolution Francis Hopkins chapter, and Past President Motor EDDS at Crescent Shrine of Burlington. Lydia was a member of the Lakehurst Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed the game of golf and was a member of the Fernwood Golf Club in Lakehurst and Vice President of Riverfront Golf Club, Florida. During her spare time, Lydia enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandson and great grandchildren, she would love nothing more than putting them in her car and taking them on an adventure. She loved spending time camping and at the beach. Lydia was an amazing mother and grandmother; she will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She is predeceased by her husband, Kennett A. Eckman. Lydia is survived by her daughter, Jane L. Paradiso of Flemington son, Andrew S. Eckman and his wife, Paula of Big Lake, Alaska, grandson, Keith Paradiso and his wife, Jen of Flemington and great grandchildren, Alexa, and Anthony. Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 11:00 AM graveside service on Thursday, December 1st , 2022, at Old Tennent Cemetery, 454 Tennent Road, Manalapan Township, NJ 07763.
