Obituary of Robert J. Waszazak, Sr.

WASZAZAK, Robert J, Sr. passed away at his home in Howell, NJ on Monday, November 21, 2022, at the age of 76. Bob was preceded in death by his loving wife, Judith Ann (née Brown). Bob and Judy were married on September 4, 1965. He is survived by his four children, Robert J. Jr. (Stephanie), Michael R. (Shannon), Karin L. and Stephen J. Also survived by sister-in-law, Peggy Brown-Argese (née Kirkbride) and niece, Michelle Fleishman (née Brown). Grandfather to Christian, Samantha, Joshua, Jonathan, Alexis, and Kaiya.

Born in East Orange, NJ, Bob and his two brothers grew up as the quintessential children of the 50s. Bob spent his formative years in Old Bridge, NJ, where he met and wed Judy. They started their family in East Windsor, NJ. Along with creating meaningful family moments, Bob and Judy led a neighborhood youth group.  As the family became older, they moved to Hamilton, NJ, until the kids fled the nest. Bob and Judy down-sized in Howell, NJ.

Bob was a machinist by trade, working for Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory (PPPL) from 1982 to 1997 and continuing on with various small companies. Not one to retire, he worked at Home Depot for the last 15 years, where he considered his coworkers an extended family. He was ready with quick jokes, particularly enjoyed fishing and crabbing, and was always tinkering.  He will be missed but remains in our hearts, minds, and memories forever.

In lieu of a funeral or visitation, the family will gather to celebrate his life at a later date.
