Obituary of Michael J. Puhala

Dr. Michael J. Puhala, 69, of Freehold passed away on December 2, 2019 at home. The son of Michel J. Puhala & Josephine Puhala, Michael was born in Boardman, Ohio and had lived in Sea Bright and Middletown before settling in Freehold. He earned his Bachelors and Masters degrees at Case Western University, and a PhD in Physics from Illinois Institute of Technology. He worked in information technologies for Bell Labs, Holmdel before his retirement.

Michael was predeceased by his sister, Mary Helen Gratz. He is survived by his wife, Elke; his son, Michael Scott Puhala; his step-mother, Agnes Puhala; his brother-in-law, Gerald Gratz; five nephews and three nieces.
