Irma VanSchoick

Obituary of Irma VanSchoick

Irma VanSchoick, 77, of Howell passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 15, 2022 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune with her family by her side.  Irma was born in Salzburg, Austria to Wilhelm and Anastasia Brese.  In 1952 she came to America and settled in Wiggins, CO where she lived until moving to Howell.  Irma was involved at her church and also with the Joshua House Food Pantry.  She worked as a bus driver in Howell and adored the kids she delivered safely to school and home each day.  Irma loved cooking, her cole slaw being the best anyone had, and enjoyed going on cruises. She loved her life and it showed in the way she lived life to the fullest, was the life of the party, and had a gift for making people laugh.  Her family was the core of her priorities, and she was a wonderful role model for her daughters who she referred to as her angels.

Irma is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Charles VanSchoick; daughters, Catherine Couto and her husband, Ben of Shark River Hills, Christina King and her husband, Scott of Bricktown, and Cynthia McGowan and her husband, Andrew of Farmingdale; and granddaughter, Nicole Shubeck and her fiancĂ©, David Binn.

A Memorial Gathering will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Sunday, December 18, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM with her Memorial Service to follow at 2:00 PM.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Associated Humane Societies, 2960 Shafto Road, Tinton Falls, NJ 07753 would be appreciated.  For information, directions, or to leave condolence messages to the family, visit www.claytonfuenralhome.com
