Obituary of Edith Camarda
Edith Camarda, 94, of Jackson passed away on Monday, December 19, 2022, at Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus, Lakewood. She was born and raised in New York City and had lived in Staten Island before moving to New Jersey in 2001. In her 50s, Edith completed her education from Wagner College with her master’s in nursing. Edith worked as a nurse educator at Staten Island Medical Group and at Centra State Medical Center before her retirement. She was a member of the Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau and was featured in the Who’s who in American Nursing. Edith was very political and always showed her love and devotion to our country. Edith and her husband Frank had a beautiful love story, together they lived a very full life, they spent many of days of the Bocci ball courts and traveling the world together. She was a Christmas Fanatic and took great pride and pleasure in making each holiday special for her family, may the memories she created live on through generations to come.
She was predeceased by her son, Robert Camarda and her husband, Frank Camarda. She is survived by her daughter, Karen Favazza and her husband, Dennis of Jackson; two grandchildren, Samantha Favazza and Christopher Favazza and his wife, Lisa; 3 great grandchildren, Christian, Felicity, Phineas.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, from 2:00 to 6:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 10:30 AM funeral mass on Thursday, December 22, 2022 at Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold, NJ 07728 on with her burial to follow at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, 299 Freehold-Englishtown Road, Freehold, NJ 07728.
