Obituary of Thomas Leo Sebor
Thomas Leo Sebor, age 72, died on Monday, December 19, 2022 at CentraState Medical Center after a brief hospitalization.
Tom was raised in the Newark area by his parents Rita and Leo Sebor. He attended Seton Hall Prep and Seton Hall University, South Orange. Tom was an insurance agent for Prudential for many years before retiring in 2021. He was married to Robin until the time of his passing and together they raised 5 sons in Freehold Township.
Tom was a devoted family man and was dedicated to his sons and all their athletic activities. He was a constant presence on the sideline and coach’s bench for multiple sports including baseball, basketball, soccer, lacrosse, bowling and rugby. He took such pride that all 5 of his sons were athletic and he often noted that he was the source of their athletic prowess. He always cheered for everyone and it was his greatest joy to coach and watch his boys play ball.
In addition to watching his sons, he enjoyed watching and wagering on professional sports. His home welcomed the many friends of his children and they all enjoyed Tom’s knowledge and acumen of sports. He was an expert on sports trivia and horse handicapping. He is remembered with love and admiration by the many friends and family who frequented the family home.
Tom was predeceased by his loving parents, Rita and Leo; and his sister Rosemarie Sebor. He was also predeceased by his beloved son, Philip Charles Sebor.
Tom is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Robin (nee Selsky), and their 4 sons, Cal and his fiancée, Brianna of Hoboken, Jeffrey and his girlfriend, Alex of Freehold, Ty and Billy of Freehold Township. He is also survived by his brother, Daniel and his wife, Eileen; and a large extended family.
A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Rod (Route 524), Freehold Township on Friday December 23, 2022 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, followed by his funeral service at 11:00 AM. Entombment will be at Marlboro Memorial Cemetery in Morganville. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the charity of your choice in Tom’s name.
