Obituary of Joseph Frank Tozzi
Joseph Frank Tozzi, 101, of Cary, North Carolina passed away on Friday, December 16, 2022 at Peak Resources Nursing Facility, North Carolina. He was born and raised in Manhattan and had lived there until he settled in New Jersey in 1957. Joseph served proudly in the United States Army during World War II. After the service he went to college, attending Pace University at night and working during the day. Joseph began his career at the National Association of Electrical Distributors where he was an Executive Treasurer and continued working until his late 80’s. He was an avid golfer and bowler. Joseph was a devout Catholic and a Grand Knight for the River Edge Knights of Columbus Council #5015. Although he had many hobbies, his favorite hobby was spending time with his family. He truly loved nothing more than being involved in their lives.
He was predeceased by wife, Marie Rose Tozzi in 2018. Joseph is survived by his five children, Vincent Tozzi and his wife, Anne of Freehold, Dr. Gary Tozzi and his wife, Lisa of Jackson, Dr. Joseph Tozzi and his wife, Kim of Sanford NC, Steven Tozzi and his wife, Kate of Boston and Susan Henderson and her husband, Chris of Brewster NY; thirteen grandchildren, Kristen Tozzi, Kimberly Clark and her husband, Douglas, Francesca Price and her husband, Arin, Alessandra Tozzi, Joseph Tozzi, Jason Tozzi, Erica Burrows and her husband, Richard, Zachary Tozzi, Nicholas Tozzi, Stephanie Tozzi, Ashley Henderson, Sean Henderson and Connor Henderson; four great grandchildren, Will, Leo, Kiera and Mia; and two sisters, Anna Bergamini and Gracie Salerno.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 10:30 AM Funeral Mass on Thursday, December 29, 2022 at the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine. Interment will follow in Brigadier General William C. Doyle New Jersey Veterans Cemetery, 350 Province Line Road, Arneytown.
