Obituary of Iris D. Raccuglia

Iris D. Raccuglia, 92, of Farmingdale passed away at the Tower Lodge Care Center in Wall on Thursday, December 29, 2022.  She was born and raised in Elizabeth, NJ and lived in Newark, NJ and East Hanover, NJ before settling in Farmingdale in 1969. A caring and compassionate soul, Iris was a homemaker and took great pride in being a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.  She loved music and was especially enamored with opera. In her spare time, Iris enjoyed playing golf with family and friends, cooking family dinners, and watching professional baseball, football, and boxing. She was a true animal lover, most of her life having cats and dogs. Iris will be remembered by her kind smile and great sense of humor.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Mario (Rocky) R. Raccuglia in 2005; daughter, Nancy Munoz in 2017; sister, Jackie Broffel in 1978; son-in-law, Landy Munoz in 2002; son-in-law Drake Asklar in 2013; brothers-in-law, Charles Stivala in 2021, and John Broffel. Iris is survived by her three sons, Mauro Raccuglia and his wife, Jeanine of Jackson, NJ; Raymond Raccuglia and his wife, Dr. Miah Kim of Jackson, NJ, and Joseph Raccuglia and his husband, Dr. Larry Buie of Plainfield, NJ; grandchildren, Leslie Munoz-Holmes, Monica Munoz, Mario Raccuglia, Joseph Raccuglia, Matthew Raccuglia, and Jonathan Raccuglia; great grandchildren, Cruz Holmes and Maddox Magnetta; and sister, Lucille Stivala.

A memorial gathering will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township, NJ on Wednesday, January 4, 2023, from 4:00 to 7:30 PM with her memorial service immediately following.
