Obituary of Sylvia L. Desider

Sylvia L. Desider, 94, Lifelong resident of Howell, Passed away at home with family by her side. Sylvia was a secretary at Fort Monmouth for over 20 years. She would always look forward to her trips to Atlantic City and her stay at the Borgata. Sylvia always supported her children and grandchildren in all their ventures and activities and was happiest when surrounded by them. She treasured family and poured her boundless energy into the roles she deemed most sacred: loving wife, doting mother, and devoted mum-mum.

Sylvia is predeceased by her husband, Michael F. Desider. She is survived by her two children,  Michael L. Desider and his wife, Sharon of Wall and Lynn Errickson and her husband, Ken of Howell; eight grandchildren, Michael J. Desider and his wife, Jennifer, Kelli Sisto and her husband, Gregory, Mark Desider, Katie DeFilippis and her husband, Nicholas, Matthew Desider and his wife, Kaitlyn, Justin Errickson and his wife, Lauren, Christopher Errickson and his wife, Krisann, Robert Errickson and his wife, Tonya; seven great granddaughters, nine great grandsons and five great great grandchildren.

A gathering of friends will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Monday, January 23, 2023, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral mass on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at 10:30 AM at the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township.  Inurnment will follow at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, 299 Freehold-Englishtown Road, Freehold, NJ 07728. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Sylvia’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
