Obituary of Phyllis Ann Bollmeyer

Phyllis Ann Bollmeyer, 88, of Freehold Township passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 26, 2023 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township.  She was born in Neptune in 1934 to J. Wilbur and Anna F. C. Huff.  A graduate of the Freehold High School Class of 1952, Phyllis continued her education at Bucknell University where she earned her Bachelor of Science in elementary education.  In June of 1956, she married Albert K. Bollmeyer and they lived in Howell Township until 1996 when they moved to Leisure Ridge in Manchester. She taught elementary school in Long Branch and Howell Township for 25 years.  Phyllis was also a part time resident of Naples, FL since 1992 and had recently settled in Applewood Estates, Freehold Township. 

An active member of the community, Phyllis was an oldest living member of the Adoptive Mothers Club, the Order of the Eastern Star – Molly Pitcher Chapter, a member of the Ardena Baptist Church where she was a former Sunday School teacher and member of the Board of Christian Education.  She was also an associate member of the Community Congregational Church in Bonita Springs, FL, a member of the Crescent Temple Shrine Provost Ladies Auxiliary and a member of the Red Hat Society in both New Jersey and Florida.

She especially loved her family, her church, and the many travels she shared with her husband. 

Phyllis was predeceased by her husband Albert K. in 2018.  She is survived by her daughter, Janet N. Manni of Wanamassa; son, Richard A. Bollmeyer and his wife, Ann Marie of Freehold Township; grandchildren, Ryan W. Walker, Emily C. Rosenthal and her husband, Will, Richard K. Bollmeyer and Melissa M. Bollmeyer; great grandson, Reese Ryan; sister-in-law, Ruth Harvey and her husband, Lee of Copake, NY; and a niece and nephew. 

Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Monday, January 30, 2023 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 11:00 AM funeral service at the Ardena Baptist Church, 593 Adelphia Road, Howell on Tuesday, January 31, 2023.  Interment will follow in Ardena Baptist Cemetery.
