Obituary of Maria T. Farinaccio
Maria T. Farinaccio, 77 of Freehold passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold. Born September 6, 1945 in Sicily, Italy, at 16 she moved to the United States with her family to start a new life on Long Island. However, her life truly changed when she met the love of her life, Giuseppe (Joe), they were married in May 1965 and settled in Brooklyn NY where they started a family. In 1977, she and her family moved to Eltingville, Staten Island, NY. Then in 1996, she moved to Freehold NJ to be closer to her children.
Maria was a devoted member of the Freehold congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Maria had many talents; she was an excellent tailor and cook. She loved taking great care of all her plants. She could often be found trying new recipes, especially if someone requested something special.
Maria was kind, loving and generous. She was also very strong, outspoken, traditional, and preferred things to be done her way. Above all, she loved Jehovah with all her heart and always put him first in her life.
Maria's passing is a great loss for her family and all those who knew her. Her husband, Giuseppe “Joe” Farinaccio, brother, Tony Calabro, and parents, Carmelo and Angela Calabro, precede her in death. Maria is survived by her sister, Santina.
She was a caring mother to her daughter, Grace Steiniger, and her husband, Fred of Howell and Anthony Farinaccio and his wife, Teresa. She loved all her grandchildren, Stephanie Frueh and her husband, Douglas, Sabrina Voga and her husband, Kory, Amanda Wagenblast and her husband, Mike, Shawn G. Brennan, Anthony Farinaccio, and Gianna Farinaccio. Maria was also blessed to have five great-grandchildren, Madison, Brayden, Cameron, Siena, and Capri, as well as many loving nieces and nephews that she cherished.
Her memory will be cherished forever by those who knew her.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Friday, February 24, 2023 from 4:30 to 8:30 PM with her funeral service to take place at 7:30 PM.
