Obituary of Julius John Lelesi
Julius John Lelesi, 83, of Howell passed away at home on Thursday, February 23, 2023. Jules was born on July 21, 1939 to Julius and Genevieve Lelesi in Carteret.
Jules was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. He graduated from St. Joseph’s School, Mundelein Seminary and Loyola University. Jules was a Lasallian educator for 40 years teaching young men Latin, Religion and English at DeLasalle High School in South Chicago for four years and CBA in Lincroft, NJ for 36 years.
He met his beloved wife Jackie while teaching in Chicago and they were married for 57 years.
Jules was a parishioner of Mary, Mother and God Parish, New Monmouth for 43 years where he served as Eucharistic Minister at Mass and to the homebound, and as Eucharistic Adorer for 25 years.
Jules is survived by his devoted wife, Jacqueline; daughter, Julianne Willoughby and her husband, Samuel; son, David Lelesi and his wife, Rebecca; his beloved grandchildren, Samantha, Sean and Caleb; brother, Ernest Keastead; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 10:30 AM Funeral Mass at the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township on Thursday, March 2, 2023. Entombment will follow in Mount Olivet Mausoleum, 100 Chapel Hill Road, Middletown, NJ 07748. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mr. Lelesi’s name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N.
