Condolences
I have known Walt since I first joined Bell Labs Whippany early in 1970. Early on Walt helped me learn my way around the organization and the building, somewhat as a mentor. He always had a pleasant smile and disposition and was available to help out with any projects I was having problems with. Walt and I and several others were transferred to Holmdel Bell Labs early in 1970. As a result our families would get together from time to time for a bbq or dinner. Walt will be sorely missed.

Walt was such a wonderful husband, father, and friend. He was so loving and caring to all. He will be sorely missed. May he rest in the arms of the Lord and may perpetual light shine upon him. Sending so much love to Sue, his family, and friends.
What a great person, so very sad to hear of his passing. Many fond memories of Walt from golfing to the many summer picnics at the Mahtook's. Our deepest sympathies to Sue, JoAnne and the rest of Walt's family. He was a special person and will be missed.
Walt was a wonderful friend and a delightful workmate to so many of us. His cool judgement in any situation was treasured by many, including me. He was also a great storyteller and I always enjoyed the stories he told about his youth or his work exploits. He was also the first person I knew personally who used an HP calculator at work. I know, because I signed the $400 purchase order.
