Obituary of Robin Jean Burdge

Robin Jean Burdge (nee Musgrave) of Freehold passed away peacefully on Thursday March 2, 2023, at the Manor in Freehold Township. 

Robin was a lifelong resident of Freehold and a graduate of Freehold High School Class of 1967. She married her husband of 53 years, George A. Burdge, Jr. on November 2, 1968, at the First Presbyterian Church of Freehold. She was active in the church in various positions including deacon, treasurer, and continuing the Musgrave Family’s support throughout her life.

Upon her graduation from the Brick Computer Science Institute, she became a computer technician with Tel-Star in Princeton, NJ. She moved on to Perkin-Elmer in Oceanport, NJ in the early 1980’s, which eventually became Concurrent Computer Corporation. Rising to a position as instructor until an on-the-job injury forced her early disability retirement due to a severe back injury.

Robin enjoyed summers at her backyard pool, an oasis where she frequently entertained family and friends, and wintering while overlooking Florida Bay in Marathon in the Florida Keys.

Robin was predeceased by her father, Ralph George Musgrave Sr.; mother, Martha Catherine (Miller) Musgrave; sister, Virginia Louise “Ginny” Musgrave; Uncle Harold Clarke Musgrave, Jr. and granddaughter, Peyton Isabella Burdge. 

Robin is survived by husband, George Jr. and her sons and their spouses: Lauren and George A. Burdge, III, and Tara and Stephen John Burdge. Aunt Isabel M. English, sister M. Sharon Daniels and husband Tom, brother Ralph G. Musgrave, Jr. and wife Pam; sister in Law Jane Kalinauskas; and cousin Laura Lynn Brash. Her grandchildren: Dalton John Burdge, Savannah May Virginia Burdge, Garrett Austin Burdge, George A. Burdge, IV, Gina Leanne Kerbow and husband Beau, and Jake Christopher Curcio. Her nephews R. Thomas Musgrave and wife, Holly; Adam Musgrave, Darren Stolz and fiancee, Laura; Sean Conner and wife, Jill; Her nieces Laura Stansberry and husband Ben; Sarah Daniels; and April Musgrave.

In addition to her immediate family, lifetime friends Michelle Lukoic, Lois Oakley, Olga McKenna, Dee Holmes, and Al & Kathy Sobocinski. A special thank you to Susan Lamson who, from kindergarten to the end, never really left her side.

Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 10:00 AM funeral service on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Route 524 and West Farms Road.
