Obituary of Kathleen E. Jacobs
Kathleen E. Jacobs, 69, of Howell Township passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, March 26, 2023. Kathleen was born in Brooklyn and raised in Elizabeth. She moved to Howell Township in the 1970’s. Kathleen received her bachelor’s degree from Jersey City College. She started her working career in a deli and then became the bookkeeper for Murray’s Office Supply in Freehold then for Liberty Anesthesia at CentraState Hospital. Kathleen became a Certified Life Coach and worked at iPEC Coaching. Along with her friend, she owned and operated Katie’s Kache in Red Bank. Kathleen returned to her roots and last worked at the deli counter at BJ’s until retiring. Even though, happening only once, she relished her time on a cruise to the Bermuda and was looking forward to doing it again. Kathleen took great pleasure in spending time on the beach in Belmar. She also was skilled at crocheting, especially working tirelessly on hats for cancer patients that she never wanted to take credit for. Yet nothing meant more to her than being a wife, mother, and grandmother.
Kathleen was predeceased by her sister, Tina Yurgal and two brothers, Michael and Marty Kierych. She is survived by her husband, Charles J. Jacobs; children, Brian Shicoff of Austin, TX, Wendy Serignese and her husband, Frank of Sayreville, and Bethany “Kit” Jacobs of Howell; two grandchildren, Frankie and Alana; a niece, Debi Kierych of Colonia; and her cousin, Rosemary.
A memorial gathering will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Friday, March 31, 2023 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM with her memorial service to follow at 6:00 PM.
