Obituary of Faye O. Hunsinger
Faye Ostrander Hunsinger passed away peacefully on April 1, 2023 in Palm Beach Gardens, FL, after a four-week diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. She was 78.
Born on July 17, 1944 to Corporal Charles Ostrander and his wife Rae Fulton Ostrander in St. Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach, FL, Faye spent most of her childhood and professional years in Central New Jersey. She was a 1962 graduate of Freehold High School and Trenton State College – 1966 (now The College of New Jersey).
Faye became a primary school educator, and worked for the Princeton Regional School System. After many years in the classroom, she became Director of Human Resources prior to her early retirement in 1996 to move to Florida to assist with the care of her parents. Faye continued to work for almost 10 years as a consultant to several national educational resource companies. She lived in Tequesta, FL, and developed many caring friendships among her neighbors and friends.
As a child, Faye spent many happy summers in Bay Head with her maternal grandparents, Captain Walter Fulton and his wife Ethel. She worked in Mueller’s Bakery for several summers, and loved her childhood years at the Jersey Shore.
Faye is survived by her brother, Walter James Ostrander of Florida and the Dominican Republic, many Ostrander cousins in the Central Jersey area, and her life-long friend Joan Roeben Licursi of Bay Head. May she rest in peace.
