First I would like to extend my heartfelt condolences and prayers to The Baird Family and all who knew and loved their Beloved Eddie. I met Eddie back in 1984 when we both was NYC Correction Officers assigned to AMKC or C95 facility at that time it was the biggest facility with over 3500 detainees inmate. Baird as we affectionately would refer to staff by last name only, we hit it off from the very beginning him always greeting me with a hug and peck on the cheek. One day he saw waiting for the Rikers Island Transit Bus, he stated "Ms. T where you going I stated Brooklyn he I'll take you home". Although he lived miles away in Sea Gate, just to say Eddie was that person who not only drive me home but days that we worked the same time he would pick me up. Over the years Eddie had never changed, we both loved our families we both loved to fish,he asked me before he moved to New Jersey to come over to fish for some stripped bass off the shore or rocks in the Rockaways. Eddie loved his cars, and going to NASCAR. We shared many life stories as well we shared many cold beers together. My dear Eddie Baird Jr nowadays I would hope to meet another person as you who never made a difference of me you love was pure and your compassion of others was something that I will treasure for a lifetime and Eddie Baird Jr my Brother in Blue now you're in God's Care and you will never be Forgotten.
