Obituary of June Nilah Lazarick

June Nilah Lazarick, 95, of Sarasota passed away suddenly on Sunday, April 30, 2023 at Candler General Hospital in Savannah, Georgia.  June was born, raised, and had lived in Neptune, NJ before moving to Hillside and then retiring to Sarasota in the early 1990’s.  She retired as the telephone operator at the Freehold Raceway from 1962 to 1990.  Never being able to sit still, June unretired when she moved to Sarasota and worked as a switchboard operator and front desk receptionist at the Lakehouse West community.  She had a passion for games and truly enjoyed scratch offs, the lottery and trips to the casino.  Yet being Mom-Mom was her favorite thing to be.

June was predeceased by her parents, James and Iva Hill; her husband, John A. Lazarick; a brother, John “Jack” Clayton; and a sister, Beverly Clouston.  She is survived by her two children, Stephen Chisholm and his wife, Laura of Jackson and Cheryl Chisholm-Edwards and her husband, Bruce of Neptune City; three grandsons, Stephen Chisholm, Jr. and his wife, Connie of Jackson, Mark Chisholm and his wife, Annie of Freehold and Joshua Comiskey and his wife, Cherisse of Freehold; nine great-grandchildren, twins, Autumn Chisholm and Holly Simon and her husband, DJ, Ricky Durst, Alexandra Chisholm, Elizabeth Chisholm, Isabella Comiskey, Soraya Comiskey, Wyatt Comiskey, and Walter Comiskey; and her best friend since the age of ten, Ella Westlake of Jackson.

A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township, NJ on Friday, May 12, 2023 from 3:00 to 6:30 PM with her funeral service to follow at 6:30 PM.  Interment will be with her parents in Monmouth Memorial Park, Tinton Falls, NJ at the convenience of the family.  For those who desire memorial contributions may be made to Boys Town, 14100 Crawford Street, Boys Town, NE 68010 or HERE.  For information, directions, or condolence messages to the family, visit www.claytonfuneralhome.com.
