Obituary of Harry T. Weigand

Harry T. Weigand, 91, of Manalapan passed away peacefully on Monday, May 15, 2023 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge.  He was born in Newark, raised in Meyersville and had lived in Howell before settling here in 1987.  Harry served proudly in the United States Navy during the Korean War. In the years that followed, he generously volunteered his time with the Freewood Acres Fire Department where he also served as Chief and Commissioner, and coached in the North Howell Little League program for many years.  He was an avid bowler whose nickname was Tournament Harry as he racked up wins and many trophies.  Many knew Harry from his professional life as a builder in Monmouth County for fifty plus years, but his favorite role was as a devoted father and husband. 

Harry is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Carolyn Weigand; son, Christian Weigand of Manchester, VT; daughter. Jennifer Kay and her husband, Brian of Ithaca, NY; and grandchildren, Spencer Weigand and Harvey Kay. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 10:30 AM Funeral Mass at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 16 McLean Street, Freehold on Thursday, May 18, 2023.  Interment will follow in Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent Road, Manalapan, NJ 07726.  All arrangements are under the direction of the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, Freehold Township.
