Obituary of Warren E. Poling
Warren Elliott Poling passed away peacefully at the age of 101 on May 11, 2023. He was born on August 12, 1921 in Brooklyn, New York. He was a Master Gunner in the U.S. Army and a veteran of WWII. He married his loving wife Muriel Perez in 1947. Together they raised their three children, Warren, Donna, and Judy on Long Island, NY. Warren had a long career as an accountant and was regularly active in the Episcopal Church. He later moved to and spent the rest of his life in Freehold, NJ.
Warren is remembered as a good and kind man who was a true gentleman. He was an avid dog and beach lover and a dedicated Mets Fan. He cherished the summers at his family’s cabin in Smallwood, NY. His first great granddaughter was the apple of his eye, and he was thrilled that his other three great grandchildren were born 100 years apart from him (1921 and 2021). He will be remembered humming his favorite tunes, tending to his flower garden, and for walks at sunset.
He is survived by his children, Warren Poling, Donna and her husband William Ross, and Judy Arnold; grandchildren, Kristin and her husband Matthew Peragine, Bryan Ross, and Jessica and her husband Daniel Bava; and four great grandchildren, Cambria, Matthew, Leonardo, and Charlotte.
He is preceded in death by his wife Muriel of 66 years; parents, Elliott and Mary Poling; and sisters Mildred and Ann.
