Obituary of Ana Maria Gautier

Ana Maria Gautier, 95, of Howell Township passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, June 1, 2023.  Ana was born and raised in Puerto Rico.  She came to the United States in 1951 settling in Brooklyn, NY.  Ana was a seamstress for the I.L.G.W.U. in Brooklyn.  She met her husband, was married, and started a family.  They moved to Howell Township in 1973.  Ana was a passionate cook and enjoyed gardening.  Taking on the role as a homemaker, she also enjoyed sewing and spending time with her family.  Her devotion to her faith guided her way through life. 

Ana was predeceased by her parents, Antonio Gomez and Belen Velazquez; two sisters, Maria Miranda and Juanita Velazquez; and two brothers, Antonio Gomez and Sotero Gomez.  She is survived by her husband of sixty-six years, Angel Gautier; a sister, Mariana Huertas of Brooklyn, NY; a brother, Antonio Gomez of Canovanas, Puerto Rico; three children, Miriam Esposito and her husband, Philip of Toms River, Ruth Gautier of Howell, and Angel Gautier, Jr. and his wife, Margarita of Jackson; and two granddaughters, Julissa Gautier-Sorge and her husband, Luke of Farmingdale and Maya Esposito of Toms River; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM with her funeral service to follow at 11:00 AM.  Interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery and Chapel Mausoleum, 169 West Main Street, Freehold Township, NJ.  For those who desire, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.  For information, directions, or condolence messages to the family, visit www.claytonfuneralhome.com.
