Obituary of John J. Touhey, Jr.
John J. Touhey, Jr., 65, of Jackson passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 2, 2023 at Capital Health Regional Medical Center, Trenton. Jack was born in Queens, NY, and lived in the Annadale and Rossville sections of Staten Island, NY before moving to Freehold. In 2017, he settled in the Four Seasons at South Knolls community in Jackson, NJ where he was a member of the Mens Club. Jack was a skillful golfer who enjoyed memberships at South Shore Country Club in Staten Island and later at Knob Hill in Manalapan. He was also a talented drummer and bowler, and an enthusiastic fan of the NY Jets and Yankees. Jack had traveled the US and visited Italy upon retiring after 31 years working for UPS in Paramus.
He was predeceased by his father, John J. Touhey. Jack is survived by his wife of 32 years, Diane Touhey; son, John Touhey of Hoboken; mother, Frances Touhey of Whiting; brother, Russell Touhey and his wife, Darian of Freehold; sister, Caralyn Potenza and her husband, David of Staten Island, NY; brothers-in-law, William Rossini and his wife, Cheryle of Waco, TX and John Rossini and his wife, Lori of Port Jefferson; nieces, Kailyn Touhey, Nicole Bergman and her husband, David, and Danielle Dusenberry and her husband, Matthew; nephews, Andrew Touhey and David Potenza; and many dear friends.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGIrr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited together at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at 9:00 AM for the procession to his 10:00 AM Funeral Mass at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 935 Bennetts Mills Road, Jackson.
