Obituary of Lorraine Lago

Lorraine Lago, 71, of Manalapan, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones on Friday, June 2, 2023. Lorraine was born in Newark, New Jersey, to the late Joaquin and Carmen Lago, and had previously lived in Sayreville before settling in Manalapan in 1993. Lorraine retired as an echocardiogram technician for Bayshore Community Hospital. Prior to that, she worked at Memorial Medical Center in South Amboy. Lorraine was known to those closest to her as kind and selfless, always seeing the good in people and eager to help her loved ones. Lorraine treasured her time spent with her friends, the "Movie Girls", and watching the New York Football Giants. Yet, nothing could top the time she spent with her granddaughter, Cassie, since retiring to help take care of her, even spending 8+ hours a day during the COVID pandemic, playing virtually on the iPad, creating memories that will be cherished forever. Lorraine was predeceased by her beloved brother, Jack Lago. She is survived by her son, Foster Reed, his wife, Allison, and the light of her life, her granddaughter, Cassie. Lorraine's family already feels the void left behind, and as they carry on with her in their hearts, they will always love her to the moon and back. A memorial gathering will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township, on Friday, June 16, 2023, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 10:00 AM Funeral Mass at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 31 Asbury Road, Farmingdale.
