Obituary of Giuseppe Capobianco
Giuseppe Capobianco, 89, of Freehold passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 12, 2023 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold. He was born in Montescaglioso, Province Matera, Italy and came to the United States in 1959. He lived in Paterson where he worked for 38 years as a Dye House Printer and lived in Wayne before settling in Freehold in 2002. Giuseppe was a devote catholic, becoming a parishioner of the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine. He belonged to the St. Rocco Italian Club in Paterson and thoroughly enjoyed making wine. Giuseppe enjoyed tending to his garden, especially growing both vegetables and flowers, and making home cooked meals for his family. Above all, he will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, nonno, brother and uncle.
He was predeceased by his two sisters, Anna and Rosaria. Giuseppe is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Cornelia Capobianco; children, Vincent Capobianco and his wife, Catrina of Pompton Lakes, Frank Capobianco and his wife, Kathy of Clifton, Victor Capobianco of Pompton Lakes, and Rosanna Nasso and her husband, Charlie of Freehold; grandchildren, Joseph Capobianco, Victoria Capobianco, Antonio Capobianco, Vincenzo Capobianco, Alexandra Capobianco, Frank Capobianco and his wife, Nadia, Alexis Capobianco, Michael Capobianco, Gianna Capobianco, Nicolas Nasso, Christopher Nasso, Carlo Nasso, and Salvatore Nasso; sisters, Maria Bitondo of Canada and Nicolette Dichio and her husband, Joe of Canada; brother, Angelo Capobianco and his wife, Maria of Canada; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Sunday, June 18, 2023 from 12:00 to 4:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the Funeral Home on Monday, June 19, 2023 at 9:30 AM for the procession to his 10:30 AM Funeral Mass at the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township. For those who cannot attend the Funeral Mass in person, the family invited you to participate via Webcast HERE.Entombment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery & Chapel Mausoleum, 169 West Main Street, Freehold Township.
