Obituary of Rose F. DiGangi
Rose F. DiGangi, 83, of Freehold passed away on Friday, June 16, 2023 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. She was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. Rosie had lived in Norwich, CT where she met her husband, Rosario. Along with Rosario, they settled in Freehold in 1975 to raise their family. Rosie was a great force for the Mercy Outreach Ministries and had an unconditional love for Jesus. Family meant everything to her, and she was an amazing wife, mother and nanny. Rosie was well-known through the business she ran along with her husband, her sister and brother-in-law, known as Pastaria. Then, together with her husband, she established a new family business currently known by all as Rosario’s Deli.
Rose was predeceased by her son, Ignazio “Joey” DiGangi; twin sister, Jeanette DiMaggio; brothers, Salvatore DiBartolo and Frank DiBartolo; brothers-in-law, Tony Cassandra and Tony DeBlasio; niece, Debbie DiMaggio; and nephew, Anthony DiMaggio. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Rosario DiGangi; son, Thomas Rosario DiGangi and his wife, Annmarie; daughter-in-law, Kimberly DiGangi; four grandchildren, Rosario John DiGangi and his wife, Jennifer, Nicole Anne DiGangi and her fiancé, Anthony Amatucci, Mary Rose DiGangi-Valdner and her husband, Dominic Valdner, and Giana Rose Urso and her husband, Christopher Urso; great grandchildren, Antonia Rose and Joseph Ignazio; sisters, Mary DeBlasio and Camille Cassandra; sister-in-law, Loretta DiBartolo; many nieces and nephews and their families; and treasured friends.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held privately. Interment will also be held privately in Emley’s Hill Cemetery, Cream Ridge.
