Obituary of Pamela Anne Horn

Pamela Horn, 82, passed away peacefully while surrounded by her family on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at her home in Freehold, NJ. She was born and raised in Southfields, a district in inner London, toward the end of the World War II German bombing campaign against Great Britain. She attended St. Michael's Primary School in Southfields and then received a scholarship to the City of London School for Girls, before joining the Lucie Clayton College modelling agency in Grosvenor Gardens.

Amidst a successful print and runway modeling career in London, she met a Brooklyn-born charmer named Lawrence Horn and emigrated to the United States in the early 1960s; they were married in June 1963. In addition to being a loving wife and mother, Pamela was a revered horticulturalist and floral designer while residing in Westchester County, NY; Cape Code, MA; and ultimately Freehold, NJ.

Pamela was many things: gracious, intelligent, discerning, creative, generous, complex, and stoic – English to her core. She instilled in her children firm understandings of privilege, gratitude, humility, gravitas, and quiet determination, all of which have served as rock-solid foundations in their personal and professional lives.

Pamela is preceded in death by her husband. She is lovingly remembered by her son Tim and son-in-law Peter of Asbury Park, NJ; daughter Sarah and son-in-law Mark of Boulder, CO; brother Philip and sister-in-law Sue of Wimbledon Park, England; sister Catherine and brother-in-law Glen of Bloomington, IN; nieces and nephews Marty, Joel, Alex, Charlotte, Sophia, Polly, and Felicity; and many other loving family members and friends.

A memorial service is being planned for a later date. Donations in Pamela's memory and name may be made to Cocker Spaniel Rescue of New England and/or New Jersey Boxer Rescue.
