Obituary of Ottavio Charles DiMattei
Ottavio Charles DiMattei, 69, of Freehold Township passed away peacefully on Wenesday, June 28, 2023 at CentraState Medical Center. Tommy was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. He had lived in Edison and Manalapan before moving to Freehold Township in 1997. Tommy retired as the owner of Pizza Forno in Aberdeen in 2008. Prior to that he worked as a computer-aided designer, mechanic and for Givaudan Fragrances Corporation. Along with his wife, Tommy relished in travel throughout the United States, Mexico, and the Caribbean. He was a Classic Rock enthusiast and always embraced new technology. Tommy had a great knowledge of the world and was always researching and learning. However, food was his passion, always looking for new things to cook and eat, he was a genuine “Foodie”.
Tommy was predeceased by his parents Antonino “Nino” and Catherine DiMattei and a brother, Anthony DiMattei. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Rosemary DiMattei; sister, Maria Morrissey and her husband, Charles; sister-in-law, Susan DiMattei; brothers-in-law, Daniel Rotunno and his wife, Pura and Robert Rotunno and his wife Denise; nieces, Constance DiMattei, Joanna Morrissey, Jennifer Amador and Antonio, Kristie Kovacs and her husband, Jesse and Brittany Spennato and her husband, Victor; and nephews, Brian Morrissey and Raymond Rotunno.
A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Friday, June 30, 2023 from 3:00 to 6:30 PM with his funeral service to follow at 6:30 PM.
