Obituary of Pauline Hodan

Pauline Hodan, 99, of Freehold Township passed away on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at CentraState Medical Center.  She was born and raised in Perth Amboy and lived in Fords before settling here in 2018.  Pauline was a homemaker who loved helping family, friends, and neighbors; her compassion and altruism were treasured by everyone she encountered.  She will be remembered for her charming smile and the twinkle in her eye.  All who knew Pauline recall her as a feisty and fiercely loving woman with a big heart. 

Pauline was predeceased by her beloved husband, Edward in 2001. She is survived by her son Edward Hodan, Sr. and his wife, Delma of Freehold Township; her granddaughter Christine Hodan and her husband, Justin Jaworowski of Union Beach; her grandson Edward Hodan, Jr. of Princeton; her nieces Marian Chumer, Elaine Webster, Jean Gibney, and Marsha Proto; and her nephew Robert Panko.

A memorial gathering will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Saturday, July 15, 2023 from 2:00 to 5:30 PM with her memorial service immediately to follow.  Interment will be private.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Pauline’s name may be made to the Hickory Senior Center, 17 Corrielle Street, Fords, NJ 08863.
