Obituary of Kathleen Koping
Kathleen Koping, 74, of Freehold Township passed away peacefully at home on Monday, July 17, 2023, with her three sons by her side. She was born in Elizabeth, raised in Carteret and had lived in Woodbridge before settling here in 1986. Kathleen attended Saint Peter's College graduating in 1971 with a degree in accounting. She worked for the County of Monmouth where she was a supervisor, retiring in 2016. Kathleen was a wonderful mother who would always support her sons in all their endeavors, especially in Boy Scouts where she received the Wood Badge Award. Kathleen was happiest when she was sitting by the pool watching her grandchildren play and cruising around the world, first with her husband, Rich, and later with her sister, Patti (known as the cruising sisters), racking up at least 25. She was a fighter who always saw the best in people. We will all miss her kindness and generosity.
Kathleen was predeceased by her husband, Richard Koping; parents, Clare and Jack Ringwood; and brothers, James Ringwood and Thomas Ringwood. She is survived by her three sons, Thomas Koping and his wife, Margaret of Howell, Robert Koping and his wife, Rachel of Bremerton, WA and Patrick Koping of Freehold; seven grandchildren, Connor Lorwey, Sean Koping, Kyle Koping, Kaitlyn Koping, Roman Koping, Abigail Koping and Aurora Koping; sister, Patrica Monahan and her husband, Joe ; and brother, Brian Ringwood and his wife, MaryLu.
