Obituary of Jayne Theresa Wuy

We regretfully announce the passing of Jayne Theresa Wuy of Brick, NJ on July 15, 2023.

Jayne passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home of natural causes.

Jayne was one of the strongest, most courageous, caring, and kindest women to ever walk this earth and our family was blessed to have her.

Jayne was born to Ann and Thomas Bird on April 7, 1960 and was the youngest of 7 children. Jayne graduated from Woodbridge High School in 1978 and married Roger Peter Wuy of Carteret in 1985. She lived in Carteret from 1985-1999 before moving to Howell and then finally to Brick in 2015.

She and Roger P. went on to have two children, Roger Stephen in 1988 and Brittany Ann in 1993.

Jayne was a wonderful and loving mother who gave her all to her family. From always being involved with her children’s schoolwork and extracurriculars in early years, to later being a care giver to her father-in-law “Letchy”, and her husband as he became a diabetic amputee, she also beared the grief of losing her daughter in 2009. She was a true fighter who put others first and we will never be able to fill the space left behind by her. Jayne loved watching Lifetime movies and game shows, completing Word Search puzzles, caring for animals, going for walks, and spending time with family/ friends.

Jayne was predeceased by her husband Roger Peter (2020), daughter Brittany (2009), mother Ann (2021), and sister Carol (2015). She is survived by her son Roger, daughter-in-law Jade, brothers John and his wife Lisabeth Bird, Bill and his wife Mary Bird, Tom Bird and his partner Linda Wahl, sisters Debbie Bird and Linda Urban, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Thursday, July 20, 2023, from 9:00 to 1:00 PM with her Funeral Service to follow. Interment will take place at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Cemetery, 299 Freehold Englishtown Road, Freehold Township.
