Obituary of Maria Emilia Stanislaw

Maria Emilia Stanislaw (nee Montemayor), 86, of Freehold passed away on Saturday, July 29, 2023, at Summa Akron City Hospital in Akron, OH.  She was born and raised in Agujita, Coahuila, Mexico before relocating to the United States in 1966, where she lived in the Bronx, NY before settling here in 1969.  A born entertainer, Maria loved to sing, dance and would look forward to her weekly movie date with her husband, Stephen. She enjoyed traveling, which provided her with an opportunity to visit her loved ones both near and far. Family get-togethers were extremely important to Maria.  A special treat for her was making tamales that became a tradition all would look forward to.

Maria was predeceased by her parents, Arcadio and Josefina; sisters, Mary Elena and Josefina; and brother, Arcadio.  She is survived by her beloved husband, Stephen Stanislaw; sons, Felipe Flores and his wife, Julie of Long Valley and Ricardo Aleman of Hoboken; daughters, Rose Hegarty and her husband, Michael of North Venice, FL and Dalia Aleman of Davie, FL; stepchildren, David Aleman of Harrisburg, PA, Yolanda Aleman of Denver, CO, and Jennifer Motz and her husband, Eric of Stow, OH; grandchildren, Matt, Maggie, Austin, Tyler, Christopher, Brendan, Brianna, Avy, and Weston; and sisters, Olga Saenz and Leticia Trevino. 

Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Thursday, August 10, 2023, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 10:30 AM Funeral Mass on Friday, August 11, 2023, at St. Rose of Lima Church, 16 McLean Street, Freehold.  Interment will be private.  For those who desire, memorial contributions in Maria’s name may be made to The Women’s Alzheimer’s Movement at Cleveland Clinic/Philantropy Institute, P.O.
