Obituary of Rosalba Parra-Nuñez
Rosalba Parra-Nuñez, 74, of Lincroft passed away peacefully on Friday, August 4, 2023 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Icononzo, Tolima in Colombia. Rosalba immigrated to the United States in 1964 and became a citizen in 1996. She was a humble woman who was dedicated to her faith and prayers. Rosalba was a lifelong lover of animals and all kinds of music, including Juanes, Carlos Vives, the Rolling Stones, and Matt Redman but she adored Billy Joel. Rosalba’s life work was as a nanny and caretaker of family members of all ages but her soft spot was always for the children. An amazing cook, she always enjoyed finding new recipes but preparing traditional meals for her loved ones was her forte. One of her pastimes was watching the Food Network channel; her favorite chefs were Bobby Flay and Michael Symon. Above all, Rosalba will be remembered for her selfless nature and kind, gentle heart.
She was predeceased by her parents and beloved grandmother in Colombia; godmother, Fernanda Melo de Torres; and godfather, Pedro Ignacio Torres. Rosalba is survived by her brothers, Gustavo Parra, Carlos Parra, Filler Parra; and sisters Sol Maria Parra, Gloria Parra, and Yolanda Parra, in Colombia; nephew, Fabio Parra in Spain; and loving family members, Lydia Pinzon and Robert Passante of Manalapan, Sandra Pinzon of Morganville, Gabrielle and Stephen Perrella of Lincroft, and Jean-Paul and Merci Pinzon of VA; Eve Alexandra Rosenfeld, Daniel Peter Rosenfeld, Victoria Elizabeth Perrella, Genevieve Lydia Perrella, Stephen Lucas Perrella, Natalia Mercedes Pinzon, and Andres Antonio Pinzon.
