Obituary of Genevieve Smith
Genevieve Magellan "Jean" Smith, 84, of Freehold Township died Sunday, February 24, 2013 at home. Jean was born in Perth Amboy and had lived in Edison before moving to Freehold Township in 2001. She had been a secretary at R & R Salvage, Plainfield and was also a bookkeeper at Your Pharmacy in Edison which Jean and her late husband, William, owned and operated for 15 years. She was also past President of the James Madison Elementary School PTA, Edison. Jean also worked for the Edison Election Board. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she was an avid animal lover, world traveler and loved to ski.
Jean was predeceased by her husband, William T. Smith in 2007. She is survived by a son, John W. Smith and his wife, Patti of Glen Gardner; two daughters, Kim Smith of Freehold Township and Terry Gigantino and her husband, Richard of Millstone Township; six grandchildren, Sandi, Cori, Keithlyn, Kody, Lenny and Krista.
Friends and relatives are invited to visit on Saturday, March 2, 2013 from 3:00 to 5:30 PM with a memorial service at 5:30 PM at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township.
