Anthony Pisano

Obituary of Anthony F. Pisano

Anthony F. Pisano, 85, of Howell passed away peacefully on August 9, 2023.  Tony was born in Brooklyn and raised in Queens.  He had lived in Seaford, New York and Freehold, Howell and Jackson, New Jersey.  Tony and his wife returned to Howell in 2019, settling in The Villages.  He was an excellent student and was accepted into all eight Ivy League schools.  Tony chose to continue his education at St. Francis College, New York after receiving a full scholarship.  He then received two master’s degrees from Columbia University.  Tony was recognized as the youngest person to be hired as a school vice principle in the history of the New York City Public School System.  He then moved on to work for the accounting firm of Grant Thornton in NYC and was the first non-CPA to be made partner.  Tony retired in 2008 as the Director of Marketing with over 20 years of dedicated service. A voracious reader, he relished in his time reading everything from biographies about the presidents to the Civil War.  Tony was a fan of the NY Yankees, NY Giants, and Bruce Springsteen.  None of these things mattered as much as spending time with his family and being called “Grandpa”.

Tony was predeceased by his brother, Edward Pisano and a son-in-law, Peter San Filippo.  He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Patricia; four children, Jean Marie Pisano Yuro and her husband, Robert of Howell; Jennifer Makara and her husband, Andrew of Sayreville; Judith Pisano and her husband, Steve Salameh of Jackson; and Barry Pisano and his wife, Caroline of Freehold; nine grandchildren, Benjamin Yuro and his wife, Carla, Jordan Yuro, Jared Yuro, Noah Yuro, Julia Yuro, Cole Szpara, A.J. Makara, Shay San Filippo, and Dominic Pisano; a great-grandson, Sebastian; a brother, James Pisano and his wife, Beverly; and his grand-dogs, Bear and Bella.
